Notes from the dealer
As the name and limited run of 1,963 cars alluded to, Porsche created the 40 Jahre special edition 996-type 911 in 2003 to celebrate 40 years of its rear-engined legend. Based on the Carrera S model, a naturally aspirated, 3.6-litre flat-six sent 345 horsepower to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. However, the most notable feature was surely the GT Silver Metallic paintwork. Only the halo Carrera GT supercar could be specified in the same shade. This finish was complemented by the polished 18-inch wheels and Natural Grey leather trim.

Great car for sure
by Dickinson Jay on 8/23/2026 10:30:56 PM
O have had mine for 10 years. Had great luck with it. Few repairs except the top pistons needed replacement. 2 grand but dealer wanted 5 to do it! Hope I have it another ten years! - 5.0
Quintessential sports car!
by Dologo on 8/18/2026 8:49:29 PM
Stunning eye appeal, mechanically sound and amazingly quick to go! Pure pleasure to drive on the back twisty roads of the Colorado and New Mexico mountains ranges! - 4.0
Style but with some details rarely shared
by Pacifica 996 on 7/8/2025 12:19:29 AM
Positives: Timeless design, plenty of storage space for a sports car, if you are tall you will fit comfortably, interior holds up well (no dashboard cracks or broken anything), amazing handling, fast once car hits its power band, plenty of parts out there for a 25 year old car, easy to work on and t’s a 911! Negatives: Hardtop takes two people to take off, if you put on low profile tires a large pot hole will give you a flat, ride is very harsh, loud so that a good radio is wasted, plastic rear window on Gen. 1 996’s are a compromise and it has serious blindspots.
